After months of hardly wearing any outerwear, it’s time to greet autumn with a solid jacket to protect you from the often unstable weather of the months ahead. However, I’m not talking about any jacket here, you’ll need something versatile and warm enough to shield you from the unpredictable autumn winter weather.
A central element of autumn clothing is without a doubt the classic navy peacoat. It perfectly fits with a typical autumn landscape and is a timeless piece that’s very easy to style and wear. Here’s my three favourite ways to style this classic coat:
One of the many reasons I adore the autumn, roll necks are a fantastic starting point of any outfit and a great base layer to keep those pesky winds at bay. When paired with a navy peacoat you’ve got the ideal outfit for smarter events and although very simple, it’s a look that will always be pleasing to the eye.
Add in some tailored trousers for an even smarter outfit, well-suited to a date-night or a Sunday lunch with friends by a roaring open fire.

One of the reasons I love a classic navy peacoat is it’s sheer versatility. I’ve always found it to be the perfect coat for Weekend getaways given it can be worn with all manner of outfits and if you’re looking for a casual look simply rock a textured knit or chunky jumper underneath, both warm and stylish.

Sometimes it’s fun to get a little more creative with outfits and layering allows us guys to really express ourselves in the autumn. Over-shirts are a new obsession of mine and look great when layered up with a mock-turtleneck and peacoat.
Look for contrasting colours to really stand out, burgundy and navy is one of my current favourites and works well with the golden leaves that are scattered all over London at the moment.
