Eating Out, Food, London
Brunch is the most important meal of the day right?! And we all love a bit of avo on toast or a cheeky poachie on sourdough, but it is refreshing to find a menu that offers something a little different from the norm, dishes that really catch the eye and challenge those tastebuds.
Introducing Ekte, a Nordic inspired kitchen serving up a whole host of scrumptious and stand-out dishes. For the less adventurous there are traditional favourites such as ‘two eggs any style on homemade rye’ or ‘scrambled eggs and ‘Var’ smoked salmon’ but the most exciting dishes come from the ‘Smorrebrod’ menu, traditional open sandwiches that look almost too pretty to eat!
My personal favourites were the smoked ‘Var’ salmon, rare roast beef with celeriac and horseradish and the prawn, egg, lemon mayonnaise and dill – all equally epic and served on a delicious rye bread made on site.
Another highlight of the visit was the coffee, some of the strongest and tastiest I’ve guzzled in a long while.
Check out the full menu here and if you’re ever in the City and feeling peckish, I strongly recommend a visit to the Bloomberg Arcade and Ekte, especially if your on the hunt for a cracking cup of coffee!
