It’s official, the mac is back! Sometimes, unpleasant weather calls for the most resilient defence against the elements, which is when the classic mac comes into its own. Lightweight enough to carry with ease yet practical enough to ward off unexpected showers, the mac deserves a place in every man’s transitional outerwear wardrobe and with an ultra protective waterproof coating, there’s little chance of you falling victim to the worst that mother nature has to unleash.
Earth tones such as moss green and medium brown provide a subtle way to add muted colour to your wardrobe between winter and spring and offer a welcome alternative to black, grey and navy.
Tone on tone layering is another new obsession of mine and a dead easy way to add more detail to an outfit. Look at pairing different tones of the same colour palette and utilising a jacket or roll neck underneath the mac to add a different texture. Why not ‘pop your collar’ underneath to add another bit of detail?
Whatever your colour palette preferences, choose your favourite and commit to it for autumn. Layering up in clashing textures of the same shade for a sophisticated look that captures this season’s most covetable trend.
For added warmth experiment with a gilet layered underneath or alternatively an ultra chunky roll neck or piece of knitwear, instantly upgrading the mac to the warmest of coats.
