After a long week running here, there and everywhere in London, is there a more indulgent and extravagant way to bring in the weekend than with a couple of glasses of chilled LP alongside some seriously tasty small plates?
Le Caprice has been a stalwart of Mayfair for over three decades, renowned for being Princess Diana’s favourite dining spot and just a stones’ throw from the world famous Ritz. So, the place is fitted out in-line with its postcode: the outside is almost alarmingly discreet, which is to say it’s nothing to look at, but the inside is low-lit and glamorous, an 80s take on art deco, with glimmering mirrored walls.
The cocktails are some of the best in London and the food itself is brilliant, with every dish on the platter uniquely fabulous. From the zesty and fresh tuna ceviche with avocado, chilli and lime to the girolle and manchego croquettes, they provide the ideal sidekick to a cold glass of bubbles or cocktail. The real star of the show however is the melt in the mouth steak tartare, some of the best I’ve come across.
When To Visit – Ideal for a date night or catching up with a close friend or family member, the aperitivo menu is available from 3pm until 7pm, Monday through to Sunday.
